Testing, testing!! In just a few days we're going to be cool, or dare I even hope, cold!!  And surrounded by autumn leaves in actual autumn colors!!  Can't wait!!


I'll bet they will be far more gorgeous than these!

Marilyn wiggles my toes at 6:30 and we throw on some clothes and drive off for sunrise.  We need to get through the park gate, which doesn’t open until 7:00 and are happy to find that it will let us out, and we know it will be after seven when we return.   We have scoped out an area behind the Visitors’ Center and manage to get a few decent shots, even though there are no clouds to add texture or refract the sun’s rays. Wednesday, November 4, 2020 - FDRSP – High Falls State Park

There is time this morning for a cup of coffee while sitting in the rockers on the screened-in front porch.  It’s cool and clear and there are trees everywhere you look.  So calming after last night! Everyone finds something for breakfast and packs a little snack for the road and after a leisurely start we head for High Falls State Park, about an hour and a half away.  It’s an uneventful drive, filled with laughter and stories and a continuing discussion about the election and the future of the country.   High Falls is on the Towaliga River, which cascades over a bedrock of High Falls Granite.  We stop at the Visitors’ Center for directions to the hiking trail and we’re off.  The path follows the river past a series of cascades roaring their presence.  The four of us make our way for quite a while until Marilyn and Connie decide to head back to the car while Ginger and I continue onward for a while longer.  At one point a white blur charges b...

Well, Blogger is weird and won't let me copy and paste my text, so, since I only have a few minutes here where there is wifi, let me just assure everyone that we've arrived safely and the cabin in charming with two bedrooms and beds for everyone!!
